# crewrota

> An open source command-line tool that runs Claude Code as one of your crew members. One Claude login per member, shared history on a ship, quota at a glance, and one zip to move it all to another machine. MIT licence, Node 22 or newer. Windows is the main platform; macOS is beta.

The commands are `crew`, `crw` and `crewrota` (all the same). A crew member is one Claude login with its own config folder, so each terminal can run a different account at the same time, and the main `~/.claude` login is never touched. A ship is what several members share: conversation history and memory, the session folders, and the ship's own MCP servers.

Install:

```
npm install -g crewrota
claude plugin marketplace add pasindu-premachandra/crewrota
claude plugin install crewrota@crewrota
```

Run the plugin commands in your main Claude Code, not inside a member. The plugin adds `/firstmate`, which hands a task to one or more crew members running headless.

Main commands: `crew` (menu: pick a member, its ship, model and effort), `crew add <member>`, `crew <member>`, `crew list`, `crew quota`, `crew widget`, `crew warmup`, `crew ship create|join|leave|mcp|import`, `crew backup` and `crew restore` (move every ship, the member list and the settings to another machine in one zip; logins are never in it), `crew setup`, `crew init`, `crew doctor`.
